Our trek begins with an attractive 200km 7/8 hours drive by tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Journey through the thrilling Gurung of Ghandruk Town and explore the ancient Buddhist MonasteryOld Gurung MuseumHigh Secondary schooland village. The trekking continues to follow to Baishe Kharka, Tadapani, and afterward on the off-beaten trail to Bayali, which goes through Wide woods of pine, Rhododendron, and Oak. The trekking trail takes us closer to the Annapurna ranges, where we can see delightful perspectives on the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges. For this trek, altitude sickness is tremendously less, but sometimes it happens while walking at an altitude sickness might be an unexpected illness. It may be a good idea to walk slowly in a musical manner.

 

Best Season to Explore the Khopra Ridge:

 

The best time to trek in these areas is from (autumn) September, October, November, and (spring) March, April till May. During this period, sometimes accommodation is difficult due to the few tea houses along the journey, but no worries, the Guide will arrange the sharing room.

 

Weather Conditions:

 

The weather conditions during the spring and autumn seasons are pretty with blue skies from September, October, November, and March, April, and May time. While walking along the journey, you get the automatic warm, and the sun comes up, but at night and morning will be cold and you need a warm down jacket thick clothes, etc. Daytime reaches a temperature of around 15 to 20°C at high altitudes but at night May be 0°C to - 7°C.

After breakfast, we will start our drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. Which will be takes around an hour by car or taxi, Nayapul is the main tourist junction for Annapurna Base Camp, Ghorepani Poon Hill, and Khopra danda trek, we will lead to passing the beautiful village of Birethanti has ACAP and Tims Check point, then after checked in the paper on there, we will trek continue to follow along the riverside and we pass the delightful village of Shyauli Bazzar, then trek uphill to Kimche and reach to Ghandruk Village, has beautiful place. We can explore the ancient Buddhist Monastery and Gurung Old Museum.

Today will be a short and easy hike, and after our delicious breakfast, we start our journey to ascend the dense forest of Pine and Rhododendrons, then we will reach Baishe Kharka, they have only two hotels there, and we will have some tea break at there, again we will start our trek to climbing uphill and walk on the jungle after then we will reach to Tadapani Village. We trek from Bayli to Upper Chistibung, this morning we will descend through untie ground and forest to reach the pastures of lower Chistibun, where we will have a lunch break. No, it is not possible to get an ATM and Bank on the way, so you must take Nepali currency from Kathmandu.

Do I need to take a sleeping bag on the trek?

Yes, you need to take a sleeping bag during the trek; it is difficult to get a blanket on the lodges because so many Guides and porters do not have blankets.

Khopra Danda Trekking Cost:

This trek cost is U$D: 650 per head, the price may depend on your schedule and services included as well as Group sizes. You can book the trip with us as per your budget. Separately, from the package, the general tour involves several other expenses not covered by the package trip cost, thus you also have to budget that. Make sure, our services include and exclude sectors for the trek on our web page for information. 

Difficulty Level:

It is a moderate trek in the Annapurna region, therefore any age people can do this trip without previous trekking experience. If you hike from Khopra Danda to Khayer Lake is a little bit hard, otherwise, there are not many difficult parts of this trek. You will walk along the pine and rhododendrons forests, gradually downhill and uphill through multiple ridges. You walk around 6 to 7 Hours each day.

This trip is not as popular as Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp; however, the trekking trail is remote. The main difficulties of this route are the hidden valley of the region and the bare less of facilities during the journey. It is a community trek, you will explore and spend a few days in the Himalayas and experience the mountain lifestyle closely.

Accommodation & food during the trek:

During the trekking route, our trekking Guide will book a nice and clean teahouse where you spend the nights. It is a community trip to experience the typical accommodation, twin shared rooms with basic bathrooms along the trek. Also, in some places, you get a private room with an attached bathroom, but the rooms and washrooms are not the same in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

You will get food along the trek like; (breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner): The foods option on the trek to Khopra Danda is limited but varied and traditional. Dal Bhat is the main course, and you get diverse foods along with other dishes like Noodle soup, Pasta, Macaroni, Spaghetti, fired potatoes, Bread, Tosh with Omelet, Thukpa, MOMO, and more varieties.

Some Tips for Khopra Danda Ridge:

  • This trek is relatively moderate. It is required to have physical and mental fitness before the trek, so, we recommend that you do some cardio workouts and training for around a month.
  • For some extra expenses during the trek, we suggest you take enough NPR Cash because along the trekking route No ATMs, and Banks. 
  • If you want to take a Camera or Gopro, we advise you to keep the spare batteries.
  • Wi-Fi services along the teahouse, most of the teahouses, you get internet services. But they will charge an extra cost of around 300 to 500 NPR.
