Trekking Route:

During the Manaslu region trekking, as you explore your trip through the incredible landscapes of the Manaslu from Samagaun, you can take a short day tour to a peaceful escape.

From Samagaun to Birendra Lake is not a long distance only, you have to walk for around 15 minutes. The trekking trails are moderate and it’s best for hiking, but there are no tea houses and lodges at Birendra Lake. After visiting Lake, you have to back to Samanagun, where there are a variety of Guest Houses and lodges. 

As you move toward the lake, you’ll be greeted by the vista of blue waters shining on the surrounding white snow-capped mountains, taking a picture ideal landscape.

The best season to explore the Birendra Lake is spring and autumn. This season time will have favorable weather conditions, from March to May and September to November. These seasons are the best time for trekking in the Himalayas due to stable weather conditions, blue skies, and nice temperatures, making for comfortable and enjoyable hiking experiences. 

December to February: 

December to February is the snowfall season in Nepal, this time also you can visit Birendra Lake, but the Lake might be icy and cover the snow on the top.

June to August:

These times also you can explore the Birendra Lake. However, June to August is the rainy season in Nepal. Along the trekking trails might be landslides and blocks. 

What should I need to enter the Manaslu region?

  • Special Manaslu Permit.
  • MCAP Permit.
  • ACAP permit.
  • You need the special trekking equipment.
  • Take enough NPR currency during the trek, because along the trekking route, No ATMs and banks.

  • Kathmandu – Sotikhola by Bus.
  • Sotikhola – Machhikhola.
  • Machhikhola – Jagat Village.
  • Jagat Village – Deng Village.
  • Deng Village – Namrung.
  • Namrung – Samagaun.
  • Exploring day (Visit to Birendra Lake and Manaslu Base Camp).
  • Samagaun – Dharamshal.
  • Cross the Larke La 5106m) – Bimtang.
  • Bimtang – Dharapani.
  • Dharapani – Besishar.
  • Besishar – Kathmandu.
