Holi Festival in Nepal

It is one of the greatest festivals in Nepal. Holi is a color festival that symbolizes the leaving of winter and the welcoming of the summer season in Nepal. Generally, we have a celebration held on the occasion of full moon day in the month of Falgun, February – March.

 

Accordingly, it is also called the Fagu Purnima. It has many significant stories to celebrate this festival in commemoration of an antique god and goddess.

 

According to the English and Nepali date of this year, festivals fall in the month of March 28 to 29, 2021 and Fagun is regarded as a festival of Nepal. Therefore, the Nepal Government declares official national holidays as well. One cause of celebration of this festival is to be an existing blessing from God for the harvest and fertility of the land. Similarly, the other main reason for celebrating this festival is to increase the friendship, love, and companionship between friends, relatives, and friends.

 

Color (Holi) is celebrated throughout the country alongside with mixture of color and water. These days, most people are used to throwing water and Color at each other.
