Our trek begins with an attractive 200 km, 7 to 8 hours' drive by tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Journey through the thrilling Gurung of Ghandruk Town and explore the ancient Buddhist monastery, Old Gurung Museum, high secondary school, and village. The trekking continues to follow Baishe Kharka, Tadapani, and afterward on the off-beaten trail to Bayali, which goes through wide woods of pine, rhododendron, and oak. The tea house/lodges are remarkably like homestays.

The Khayar Lake Ridge is more attractive for this excursion, yet it is possible for those who want to take rough climbs and return to Khopra village. The trail descends to Swanta and ascends to Ghorepani Poon Hill. This trip is one of the well-known Ghorepani Poon Hill treks in the Annapurna Himalayan area. Furthermore, we climb to Poon Hill and trek down to end at Nayapul. It is a short and moderate trek in Nepal.

Is Khopra Danda Trek Difficult?

This trip is Nepal's preferred trekking destination in the Himalayas. The trekkers/travelers with healthy and sensible physical fitness will complete this program without concern, and no previous trekking experience is required. However, this excursion reaches an elevation higher than 4,000 meters. It's important to drink a lot of water and rest to allow your body to adjust naturally to the increased altitude. Physical fitness

The 7-Day Khopra Danda Trek program is suitable for beginners to advanced trekkers/travelers who can leisurely walk at least 5 to 7 hours per day while carrying a daypack. For this trek, altitude sickness is tremendously less, but sometimes it happens while walking at an altitude, and it might be an unexpected illness. It may be a good idea to walk slowly in a measured manner.

Best Season to Explore the Khopra Ridge

The best time to trek in these areas is in autumn. September, October, November, and spring. March, April, and May. During this period, accommodation is sometimes difficult due to the few tea houses along the journey, but no worries, the guide will arrange a shared room.

Weather Conditions

The weather conditions during the spring and autumn seasons are pretty with blue skies from September to November, and from March to May. While walking along the journey, you feel the warmth of the sun, but it will be cold at night and in the morning, so you need a warm down jacket and thick clothes. Daytime temperatures reach around 15 to 20°C at high altitudes but at night it may drop to 0°C to -7°C.

Generally, this trek is a great alternative for those who want to experience the natural beauty of the Annapurna range, away from the crowds and with opportunities to discover the typical culture of the Gurungs and Magars in the Nepal Himalayas region.
