Day 01: Drive to Kande from Pokhara by taxi or car for 45 minutes then trek to Pritam Deaurali (2100 meters/6,889 feet) - 3 Hours Walking.

Day 02: Trek from Pritam Deaurali to Low Camp (3035 meters/9,957feet) ⅚ Hours Walking.

Day 03: Trek from Low Camp – High Camp (3635 meters/11,925 feet) 5/6 Hours walking.

Day 04: Trek from High Camp - Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 meters/14,763 feet) - back to High Camp ⅘ Hours Walking.

Day 05: Trek from High Camp - Siding Village (1280 meters/4,199 feet) 6/7 Hours walking and Drive to Pokhara.

Transportation services from Kathmandu - Pokhara - Kande - Siding

 

You will travel both ways by tourist bus from Kathmandu - Pokhara - Kathmandu and from Pokhara - kande by taxi or car and Siding village - Pokhara by sharing jeep or Bus, Nayapul is the trekking starting and Sidding village is the ending point. 

 

Alternative transportation services from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Kathmandu

 

You can take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which takes around 30 minutes. It is a short and scenic flight from an aircraft, but the flight cost is an extra. You will enjoy the magical views of Kathmandu and Pokhara. If the weather is crystal clear, you can witness the breathtaking views of snow peaks from the flight.  

 

Lodge/Teahouse during the Mardi Himal Trek

 

During the trekking, the accommodation on the trekking trails will get lodges/teahouses. The different lodges are typical and it is basic rooms with two beds, mattresses, bed covers, blankets, and pillows. However, if you are a single trekker then you must share a room with other travelers during the busy season. 

 

Foods items

 

Along the trekking routes, every lodge and guest house has a menu system. Our team will provide you with a menu. You can check and select food items like Nepali Dal Bhat. It comes with more rice, lentils, vegetables, Papads, Salad, and Pickles. This meal is served to you for dinner and lunch. It is high in protein and carbohydrates and brings you more energy for a trip. Also, you can get several food items like Spaghetti, MO: MO, fried Noodles, Pizza, Macaroni, Thukpa Soup, Chowmin, fried potatoes with cheese omelet, and veg egg fried rice. For breakfast, you can have toast with an omelet, pancakes, oat porridge, chapati with jam/honey, bread, and muesli. 

 

Safe Drinking Water

 

Along the trekking routes, you get a bottle of water, but it will be a bit expensive because they have to supply it from the city. We would like to recommend you use the normal water from the tap or river, but you should bring a filtering pump or use the purification table. 

 

Toilet & Shower Room

 

At the tea houses/guest houses, the toilet is not like the Western, you will get the basic toilet and you have to share it with other trekkers. Some of the tea houses have western toilets, which will be more comfortable for you during the trekking.

 

You will get a shower along the teahouses. They will offer you a hot shower with gas, solar power, or a bucket shower. However, a shower is not included in the package trip. It is an additional cost. They might charge around 300 to 500 NPR per person. 

 

The maximum high elevation of Mardi Himal Trek

 

The Mardi Himal Trek takes you through the several villages of Gurungs and Magars. Which is located at a high altitude between 830 to 4500 meters above sea level. Your final destination is to reach the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 meters).

Just returned from the Mardi Himal trek with Himalayan Local Guide, the owner if the chitra Gurung is very helpful and attentive. He organized the everything perfectly. Our Guide, Kuul Gurung is very friendly and knowledgeable. He took good care of our family during the short Mardi Himal trek. We were very lucky to have them. Our Porters Lokendra and Suraz was very helpful and funny. Overall, we really enjoyed a lot. We can't recommend highly enough.
