Our trek to Everest Base Camp, after landing at Tenzing Hillary Airport Lukla heading to phakding Village is going to be exhilarating as it will be our first day of the trek. After our beautiful and scenic 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, we will be start our journeys through passes the delightful villages of Chaurikharka and descent towards Ghat village then trek continue to reach the Phakding. Today will be short and easy hiking day, after then we can go to explore the Buddhist monastery or you can prepare the trekking equipments for the long journey Overnight at Lodge.

Early morning breakfast, after then we will trek continue along the northern bank of the Dudh Koshi River side with the beautiful views around there, we trek passes the beautiful village of Tokto, Benkar, Monju there are check point. Today our journey will be more an exciting and chance to see the magnificent Himalayas view top of the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest, Lhoste, Ama Dablam, Thamserku on the way to Tengboche.  The trail goes to up and down to make the trek not easy but we’ll be getting a vast view of Himalayas as well as we will be chances to see the wildlife animals on the way such as Himalaya Thar, musk deer, Nepalese National birds of Pheasant and many more and our future trek down, passing through the dense pine forests, after then we will reach to lunch place we called phunki Thanga. After the breakfast, today we’ll be heading towards the an amazing trail on the way to Dibuche, Pangboche village and Somare, passing thoughts the beautiful many Chortens, mani walls on the our way. Also if the blue sky we will be able to see the magical view of the Ama Dablam, Thmasrku, Lhoste, Nupste and Island Peak over there. We will be descending into the river side and trek to the ascending towards to Dingboche overnight at Lodge.

Today will be 2nd acclimatization in Dingboche, after beautiful having breakfast, we will hike up to Nagarjung Hill, which is above the 5000meters.  The acclimatization is very important for the trekker’s also we are going to high an elevation.  We will be hike up at around 7, 00 meters and back down to sleep on the lower altitude it helps very much for travelers. If you do not acclimatization on the high elevation may be you will get high altitude sickness, that way it is most important.  From the top if the blue sky we will be able to see the delightful panoramic close-up view of the white snow-capped peaks of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak to make the day attraction at it. Makalu are the one of the six the world’s highest mountains. After visit Nagarjung Hill we trek down to Dingboche overnight at Lodge.

Today we will acclimatize to the tapering air at the high an elevation. To healthier to rework to the changing conditions, we have planned hike to Chhukung Ri, is a rocky mountains like Kala pathar. Today we will head to Island Peak Base Camp, it will be a fairly steep trail to the Island Peak Base Camp but compared to earlier days it is not very much challenging trail. We start by climbing by south and turn the east towards Imja Valley. Along the journey, we are greeted by the amazing Makalu, Nuptse, Lhoste and Ama Dablam. Then trail continue towards the Glacier from Lhoste and Imja Glacier, then we will spend overnight at Island Peak Base Camp.

Today will be committed to pre-climbing training; the local climbing guides will teach you all the basic activities and techniques required for tomorrow summit program. You will be taught the suitable use of ice axe, crampons, harness, climbing boots, and all necessary. The training will be basic safety measures and things to do just in case of an emergency. To make up more confidence before the challenging day, we practice using our climbing gears and we hike on ice, the return back to Base Camp.

Today is our finally destination, an early morning we will have breakfast at around 2/3 am after which we will get all the necessary gear for the summit and we will head to out. Our main goal is to make the top before noon to avoid the strong winds that blow in the highlands in the afternoon, which are the main factors that determine the success of our summit. We begin on a sandy trail and as we climb higher the trail gradually turns to the boulder-strewn trail. The further we go the more slope narrows and finally leads to rock canal. We follow the rock gorge to a ridgeline leading to the snout the snout of the summit glacier. It is necessary that you stay alert at all times and follow the instructions given by the guide. Climb up a steep snow-covered slope to reach the summit ridge and from there it is a short climb to the top. Throughout the climb, both fixed ropes and man rope will be used as safety measures. The length of the rope line depends on the weather condition and the crevasses. You will be able to see the best views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Brunets and Lhotse among other mountains from the summit. Then after we return back to Base Camp, we will spend overnight at Camp.

Today is our final day of trekking in the khumbu region; we will trek back down to Lukla.  We will trek return the same way which is we had use before going to trek, from this direction the views will be totally different before entered. We trek continue to downhill Jorsalle, Monju, Benkar, Tokto, Phakding, Ghat, Chaurikharka and reach to Lukla overnight at Lodge.

If the weather conditions are really good at Lukla and Kathmandu then, I am 100% sure we will fly back to Kathmandu. It takes around 35 minutes flight back to Kathmandu. BEST TIME TO DO ISLAND PEAK CLIMBING:

March – April – May (Spring Season):

This is the best time to do Island Peak Climbing. The weather is very good through the trek. Spectacular views of the Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumo Ri, Labuche Peak, Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kusum Khangkaru, Kongde and many smaller white snow-capped mountains etc.

The temperatures will be increasing from the middle of March and with blue skies, white-snow capped will be seen at their occasion. So many Travelers often succeed their climber in this time. On the way trip, the Nepalese National flowers will be blossom likes; red, white and pink colors with luscious green and dense forest.

June – July – August (Summer/Monsoon Season):

If you would like to do Island Peak Climbing in between June to August, it is summer/Monsoon Season. Summer Season Falls in the Month end of June to till August. This time is the hottest and rainfalls with a variety of vegetation blossom during this season, the Valley will be green and totally different view than spring and Autumn Season. While you are going to travel, Summer Season you have to be more careful with trekking trails, it might be Muddy and Slippery. It will be regularly rains and hottest during this season.

About the temperature during the days 15 to 25°C, will be gets colder nights and morning times, Temperature will be less than 8°C, and must of the morning time will be see blue sky with white snow-capped Mountains.

September – October – November (Autumn Season):

Another best time to do for the Island Peak Climbing. This season is the peak of trekkers due to the good weather conditions. As monsoon season slowly ends, a best trekking climate sets itself. The temperature will be goes up to 15 degrees in the day time and, during the night time will be down to 3 to 5 degrees. This time is while travelers relaxing with naturally views and culturally. It is highly recommended as its best time to go for Island peak Climbing.

December – January – February (Winter Season):

The winter season trek to Island peak Climbing are famous season as the March – April – May to September – October – November. The places along the Island Peak Climbing will be cold during the winter season but at that time will be an amazing trip. The temperature of Island Peak Climbing can be around as low as -10°C which tempts travelers to visit this region. It might snow falls and the Ground will be snow on the trails.

The Coldest time Starts from December to till early February, after overdue February, Climate will be slowly gets warmer temperatures to get cold dropping to -2°C to - 5°C at high altitude. While the sun come up, day time gets warms and blue sky with stunning all Himalayas views.

Accommodations during the Island Peak Climbing:

The accommodations during the trip, all accommodations are on the basic twin and sharing. Our local trekking guide team leader will be managing beautiful common room. If the possible he will try to manage the best room with attached bathrooms. About the attached bathrooms it’s very difficult to get in the Himalayas regions, most of the mountains area they have just common room and we must to share the toilet and bathroom with others clients.  The single rooms are available in the lower altitude Himalayas regions. But it is not possible to get single room in the higher elevations; you must to share with others peoples.

Meals:

As we as during the Everest Base Camp Trek, all kinds of meals will be provided in the khumbu region, you can take pleasure in Nepalese traditional foods likes: Nepali Dal Bhat and many typical foods are available on the this region. Also they have special menus; you can choose the many different kinds of European, Italian, Chinese and Indians foods are available on the during the journey.  

Breakfast:

You can choose by menu of your breakfast: options such as French toast with (jam, Honey and Butter), muesli, Oatmeal, Corn Flakes, cereal, hash browns, any style of eggs you would like, Gurung Bread, Tibetan Bread with (jam, honey and Pea abutter), pancake, puffy, and round and tsamapa porridge and chapatti with any kinds of Tea.

Lunch:

Lunch time; you will have the opportunity to specials delicious food likes:  Thukpa, vegetable Noodle soup, Chicken Noodle soup, mushroom soup, fried veg. cheese potatoes, veg eggs fried noodles, eggs. Vegetables friend macaroni, Momo (dumplings), eggs. veg fried rice, Nepali Dal Bhat set (Dal Bhat power 24 hours)  and many much more items.

Dinner:

You can choose by menu: a menu that’s similar to the options you had at lunch break time: Stews, Pizza, Thukpa, Fried Noodles, Noodle soup, macaroni, fried potatoes, friend rice, momo (dumplings), spring role, Dal Bhat set, spaghetti and many much more items etc.

Safe Drinking water:

The Everest region you will get normal water from the Tap or river. This water you must to use purification medicine or filtering hand pump, also you get boiled and bottle of water are available at lodges. While you hiking in the mountains regions, you should drink normally 4 to 5 liters of per day.

Travel insurance for Island Peak Climbing:

Acute Mountains Sickness (AMS) or an altitude sickness is one of the risks even as traveling in the high an elevation.   • Do not walk very fast in the high altitude.
  • Walk a slowly on the high elevations and keep walking.
  • Do not walk alone on the way.
  • Inform your guide as soon as if got any high altitude sickness.
  • Drink very much boiled water and hot tea.
  • Take a garlic soup and Ginger tea; it is high altitude sickness medicine
