Mount Everest

Mount Everest (8,848 meters) is the highest mountain in the globe, situated in the northeastern part of Khumbu District.  It is located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China.

North EBC Vs South EBC

The locality of the North EBC is in Tibet China and the location of the South EBC is in Nepal. If you would like to reach the north Everest Base Camp, you can go by jeep or car. China has already built the road up to the base camp of Everest. But, if you want to go south base camp of Everest is the most well-known base camp in the world. Because of the genuineness of the trekking trail leading up to the Base camp, withstands lots of needs and randomness while trekking en route to the EBC. The altitude of the North side of Everest Base Camp is below 5200 meters, but the Base Camp of Nepal side (South EBC is 5,364 meters).

Who was the first climber to Mount Everest?

Everest was first climbed by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953. Tenzing Norgay is from the village of Thame in the Khumbu region of Nepal. He assisted Sir Edmund Hillary in successfully conquering this Magical Mountain. Before their successful ascent, many climbers tried to climb the mountain but failed.

Best time to Everest Base Camp:

Throughout the year trekkers can explore the Everest region trekking. For better experiences and to get to enjoy the breathtaking scenic Himalayas present in the area alongside Mount Everest, you can choose the month of autumn (September, October, and November) or spring ( March, April, and May) are the best time to discover the Everest region treks. During this time, the weather is clear and warm. Trekkers will have plenty of chances to view mountains like; Kusum Kangaru, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Kwangde, Tabuche Peak, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Everest, Island Peak and Pumari, etc.  

Lukla Town:

Lukla is the central gateway to Everest region trekking. However, the typical gateway to Everest is the villages of Phaplu and Jiri. So, some trekkers prefer trekking to Everest Base Camp from Phaplu or Jiri following the classic trekking trails to Everest. After the construction of the Tenzing Hillary airport in Lukla, the consequence of Everest region trekking and climbing changed extremely. Permits requirements:

If you are planning to visit the Everest region trekking. Then, you should need to buy a Sagarmatha National Park Permit and a Pasang Lhamnu Rural Municipality Permit. These both are essential permits for, those wishing to travel to the Everest area. These permits cover the Everest Base Camp Trek, Everest Three Passes Trek, and Gokyo Lake Trek. If you want to climb Island Peak or Labuche Peak, then you have to buy special climbing permits.
