Trip Overview

Manaslu trek is one of the best trips in the Gorkha District region. The Manaslu (8,165m) Height Himal trekking routes opened in 1992 which offers a combination of lush cultural heritage. It is in Gorkha District. Mount Manaslu was the first to climb Toshi Imanishi on 9 May 1956.

 

The journey encompasses the wonderful abode of the world's 8th-highest mountain Mount. Manaslu (8,165m) and Nepal’s remote villages of both the Himalayas and hilly sides, trekking to Manaslu trail is within the (MCAP) Manaslu Conservation Area Project and (ACAP) Annapurna Conservation Area Project. It is a chance to discover the Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal regions of Nepal. 

 

Trekking to Manaslu starts point from Soti Khola which needs to drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola for around 7 to 8 hours on the Nepalese bumping road get to the Hotel overnight at the lodge the next day walking to Lapubensi keep going following through the Budhi Gandaki River until Dharamshala Village. The trek also allows you to explore the Gurung traditional, Monasteries, waterfalls, Natural Hot springs, and its natural habitats like birds and animals Sometimes they come close to you because they have built relationships and rapport with humans. Is Manaslu Trek less crowded?

 

The main visible trekking trails of Nepal like the Annapurna Base Camp trek Vs the Everest Base Camp trek route are more crowded. Thousands of trekkers/travelers come to explore these trails throughout the year. So you may not get the peaceful environment that you are looking for when trekking up in the Nepal Himalayas. Manaslu Trekking Route Information:

 

The trekking trail of the Manaslu in Nepal starts from the lowland terraced farmlands area of the highlands region and extends up to the vegetation of 5106m from the sea level. The trip route crosses the Budi Gandaki River on its shores. There are several waterfalls, rivers, Rocky Mountains, Hills, and lakes along the trip.

 

The main purpose is to cross the Larkya La pass (5106m); which is the high pass in the Manaslu region; however, the surroundings of the Himalayas range from the top is astonishing. The best views of mountains like MT. Manaslu, Annapurna II, Samdo Peak, Larke La peak, Himlung, Nemjung etc.

How do I reach the Manaslu Larkya La Pass from Kathmandu?

 

The Manaslu Larke La Pass is untouched by any bus roads yet. However, you drive to Soti Khola from Kathmandu by bus, which takes around 7 to 8 hours overnight at the lodge. Then continues to Machhi Khola, Jagat, Philim, Deng, Bhimphedi, Namrung, Samagaun, Samdo, and Dharamshala and reach Larke La pass, after crossing the pass trek descending to Bimtang, Dharapani, Besishar and drive back to Kathmandu.

 

Is it possible to solo trek?

 

No, the Manaslu region requires a minimum of two pax trekkers, and the Nepal Government has decided on the mandatory register licensed holder Guide, and Government registered trekking company.

An early morning breakfast, we will start our journey with along the Prithivi highway west from Capital city of Kathmandu, through an amazing river view cross the trishuli River and join to Dhading Besi. After an early morning breakfast, we will hike up to Manaslu Base Camp, 1st we walking on the pine forest to reach the Birendra Lake, is one of the beautiful and we can spend few hours on there, we will take a picture, after then we hiking continue to ascending to Manaslu Base Camp it takes around ¾ hours to climb uphill. When we reach to Base Camp we will do really enjoy with nature and taking picture with white snow-capped mountains, we will spend few hours on there and we trek back down to Sama Gaon, we will stay Overnight at Lodge.

We’ll star an early in the morning to head towards Samdo Village, which is takes around 2 hours from Sama Gaon, after then we trek continue to cross the wooden bridge over the Budi Ghandaki and ascending gradually up the valley. Today we will star very early in the morning. We will walk slowly gradual uphill to Larkya La Pass (5,106meters/16,751feet) from the sea level, from the dharamshala to Larke la top it will be takes around 4/5 hours. From the top if the blue sky then we will be able to see the magical panoramic mountains view of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Samdo Peak, Larkya La Peak, Kanguru and Annapurna II on the possibility. After the breakfast, we leave Tal from Besishar by local jeep or Bus. It will takes arounds 4/5 hours drive, we passing the beautiful marshyandi rive and the place of Chamje, Jagat, Shyange, Bhulbule, Khudi and reach to Besishar. If we reach the besishar on before the 4:00 pm then we will catch the micro or bus to Kathmandu. On the journey to Kathmandu, the road follows along the scenic Marsyangdi River valley and then meets the Trishuli River as we leads west along the Prithivi Highway. During the drive we will have good views of lush scenery and terraced farmland.

Can I able to see the mountains in the Manaslu Region?

During the trek, you might be able to see the white snow-capped mountains such as Siringi Himal, Ganesh Himal, Buddha Himal, Samdo Peak, Mt. Manaslu, Larke Peak, Annapurna II, Annapurna III and Lamjung Himal, etc.

Is it difficult to do Manaslu Trek?

It is a moderate to difficulty level trek, and normally, we have to walk for 14 to 16 days.

How to avoid altitude mountain sickness?

You have to buy the three types of Permit:

Is it possible for a solo female and male traveler? 

No, it is not possible for solo female and male trekkers. Because, the Manaslu trekking is a restricted area. So you need a minimum of two clients trekkers need the issue the special permits and have to take a mandatory government license holder Guide.

Maximum high elevation:

The Manaslu region trekking is located high up in the northern part of Nepal near the Tibet border. During the trek to Manaslu, you hike in the MCAP (Manaslu Conservation Area), whose altitude rises from 700 meters and goes up to 5106 meters from the sea level. It is the highest point of the Manaslu region trek. 

How difficult level:

The trip to the Manaslu region is a moderately difficulty trek route in Nepal. The trekkers needed a good physical fitness level to complete the trek. It can be more challenging for 1st time hikers on the Nepal Himalayas trails. You have to walk for 5 to 7 hours a day. The trail has numerous ascending and descending that can become slippery, rocky, and narrow. 

Ensure that you do some physical fitness exercises before coming to Nepal. The Nepal trek is always up and downhill. Increase your core strength by doing cardio exercises, walking, and running.

Accommodation:

Mostly high-elevation trekking destination in Nepal, these 16 days Manaslu trek offers basic Guest houses and lodges, depending on the high elevation. The Guest houses are more common at lower altitudes, whereas Guest Houses are in higher places. 

The Guest house owner provides a comfortable room with beds, mattresses, pillows, and blankets as well as hot showers and Wi-Fi (where accessible). But shower and internet fees will be an extra cost. The Rooms are; small and cozy but it is clean.

Meals Available in the Manaslu Region:

As you trek at a high elevation in the Manaslu region, your body will need plenty of proteins and carbohydrates. Food; and a guide will be provided along the journey. It is basic and hygienic. We encourage trekkers to consume local food and testy.

Trekking Guide will select the best hotel to ensure fresh, healthy, and delicious food. We also recommend Dal Bhat, a Nepalese special dish with adequate calories to get you lentils, vegetables, pickles, etc.

Other food items; you get likes MOMO, Bread, Noodle soup, chowmin, Thuka, Spaghetti, Potatoes, Chicken soup, chapatti, fried egg, omelet, and much more.

Safe Drinking Water:

We strongly recommend that you use for the water (filtering pump or purification tablet). Along the teahouse and lodges, you get a bottle of water. It is packed, but the cost will be high.

Tipping:

Nepalese society accepts tipping as proof of the best service. However, tipping is at the trekkers’ discretion and should reflect the worth of services provided. We suggest you tip in a group at the end of the trek.
