If you are planning the Tsum Valley Manaslu, you should take a guide because it is a restricted area not allowed to trek without a Government-registered License holder trekking guide. You must take a guide for the Manaslu region and issue a special permit.
The main reason for the trip to the Manaslu region with a local guide is that it falls under a forbidden area in Nepal. It is a risk to travel in those areas because of the undeveloped routes and unequipped accommodation services. Because of this reason, The Nepal Government has decided it must be mandatory to take a guide when trekking in restricted areas. Also, this trek required a Minimum of two trekkers.

An early morning breakfast, we will start our journey with along the Prithivi highway west from Capital city of Kathmandu, through an amazing river view cross the trishuli River and join to Dhading Besi. We will stop along on the way for Lunch break. After then we drive continue to passing through the Arughat Bazzar along with scenic drive to following the Budi Gandaki River side to Arkhet and reach to Soti khola overnight at Lodge.
After an early morning breakfast, we trek continue to following the low valley to the north, also chance to the majestic Himalayas views from the low place and take a time to picture of the Himalayas and local lifestyle houses, landscape, waterfalls etc. we passing the dense forest, Buddhi Gandaki valley, and hillside. We walk a series of ascent and descent leads to the typical small and beautiful village of Lapubesi. From this place our trekking trails goes to descending to the wide, sandy and river side which is the beautiful place and reach to Machha Khola overnight at Lodge.
Today will be more an exciting, first we will cross the suspension bridge and our trail leads to Kholabesi, the trekking route has chance to explore the beautiful landscape, waterfalls, and hills. After then again crossing the suspension bridge at kholabesi our trek will be continue to join the natural hot spring at the Tatopani. From the Tatopani village we cross the again bridge and walking through the passing the delightful village of Dovan, thulo Dunga and trek continue to reach Jagat Village overnight at Lodge.
Jagat Village has an entry check point of Manaslu and Tsum valley by registering the special permit of Manaslu regions. After finished we checked our permit then we trek continue to climb over a ridge to salleri village. We walk along the river side and cross the Budhi Gandaki River on a long suspension bridge. Also we trek continue to Phlim village, Ekle Bhatti. The trekking trail you will get separated towards to manaslu and tsum valley, where you will see the trekking trail map on the board and hike up to Lokpa. The tsum valley trek is one of the hidden and few trekkers’ goes to hiking in this area.
After the breakfast, we start our journey to the wild route to tsum valley region. From the Lokpa to Chumling, if the sky is clear day, the spectacular views of Siring himal, Buddha Himal and Ganesh Himal. And the trail continue to walking on the jungle side, we cross the suspension bridge then, trail leads ascending to reach the Chumling village, this village has ancient Buddhist monastery when we reach on time we can go to explore it and back to room overnight at Lodge.
Today will be great day because we’ll enter the upper valley part of the inside Himalayas. Our trekking trail continue to along the Syar River down to domje and rises over 500 meters to the biggest village in the Tsum valley. An attractive village of Gho has atypical Monastery. From there we will be continue our ascending and then trek to reach at Chhekampar. If the blue sky on the day you will be able to see the delightful views of Ganesh Himal and Himalchuli from this village where we will have the chances to have the hospitality of local peoples “Tibetan Group” welcoming with typical “Tibetan tea” and local foods. We stay at overnight Lodge.
Today we walk pretty shorter than preceding days. The Nile on the western side of the Shikhar khola it takes about 15minutes to 25 minutes walk and cross from chhule is the last village direction north in the upper valley. As we go up hill, the valley comes lush, narrow, and we will see the popular hard working of farming. After we passing the beautiful lamagaon, there is pire phu cave of Milarepa where will see the his footprint is still potted and noticeable in the rock. Pigeon cave is one of the sacred caves in the Tsum and Valley on the side of a rocky cliff mountain with beautiful views of the valley from the cave and monastery near the village of Burji. There are 2 separate monasteries attached to the stony cave.
Today we will be short walk from the Nile along the west bank of the valley close to the Tibetan border reach easily to Mu Gompa, this place is highest point of the Tsum valley trekking, we will be hik uo through yak pastures through typical dry and arid trans Himalayas. The Buddhist monery has rows of beautiful chortens with an amazing mountains view from tea houses. The historical Monastery associated with the dawn of Buddhism sprint by Monks, on the lap of the Rocky Mountains is one of the ancient monasteries in the Tsum valley region.
We trek back down the valley through Chhule and trek continue to down as Phurba, walking on the east following the bank of the Siyar Khola and Crossing flat rock covered plains following the power lines to Rachen Gompa, where we look over the old Monastery talk to very friendly with monks about the history of the monks and Monastery.
After the delicious breakfast, we start trek to the south until a bridge crosses to the west bank and pass again through Chhekampar then below on the preceding path towards Chumling. After then we can go to explore the small Gompa on the left at Gho and back descending on a narrow trail passing the Monastery on your left and cross the wooden bridge over the Siyar Khola. Cross the bridge to Domje has Tibetan herbal medicine clinic and school, then we will be climb steeply through pines and rhododendrons forest until the trail starts travelling at a mani walls with Buddhist prayer flags. Then after we ramble on the pine and take a prayer flag noticeable ascending path and make a wind climb through vast silver pines to reach Gumba Lundgang. This small Gompa with 40 religious has intense and interesting local peoples called puja starts from 6:00 pm to 7:00pm every night unless the nuns are on holidays.
This day will be more exciting, after the breakfast we will hike to Ganesh Himal Base Camp, we will walk on the forest wilderness and views make it delightful trek even through altitude gain can cause difficulty in climbing. We pass through down and uphill through hidden valley, and then take us right on muddy zigzags on a shortcut get back the lower trail and continue up the valley through the dense forest. After passing through small clear territory, while we reach to Base Camp we will take some nice picture and enjoyed with nature then back to same place overnight at Lodge.
After visit to Tsum and Hidden Valley region, we trek to down chhekampar to the monastery at Gho Continue on the narrow trekking trail through the village to cross the shiar khola and we head to nearby Dumje. Then trail climb ascending through ramble on pine and rhododendron forest reach to mani wall with delightful prayer flags, we passing the Gomba Lungdang, Domje and get back to Lokpa.
We trek descending through the exposed trekking route, we cross the Budi Ghandaki River on a beautiful bridge then we walking on the narrow trekking trail ascending and descending when gradually climbing through the hidden valley. Crossing the river and ramble on pine, rhododendrons and bamboo forest reach to Deng, inhabited by Gurungs Villages, again cross the suspension bridge then climb uphill to Rana, and Bhimphedi. We wander in and out of the valley to cross the serang khola before the finally we reach to Ghap overnight at Lodge.
Today we will head to Lho village; the valley becomes steeper and long walking on through bamboo, rhododendron and pine forest, crossing the wild river a couple of times to reach to Namrung village has police check point for trekker’s we will go to check our manaslu and Nar phu valley special permit to there and we trek continue to walking on the delightful village with chance to see the magnificent mountains peak Buddha Himal and Manaslu and reach to Lho village overnight at Lodge.
Today will be shorter and an exciting day, we follow the bank of the river with views of many more peak ahead. A couple of hours we will climb uphill through the forest brings us to the village of shyala, offering the Delightful views of Phungi, Manaslu, and Buddha Himal and much more, the village are really beautiful and we trek continue to walking on the flat and reach to sama Gaon overnight at Lodge.
After an early morning breakfast, we will hike up to Manaslu Base Camp, 1st we walking on the pine forest to reach the Birendra Lake, is one of the beautiful and we can spend few hours on there, we will take a picture, after then we trek continue to ascending to Manaslu Base Camp it takes around ¾ hours to climb uphill. When we reach to Base Camp we will do really enjoy with nature and taking picture with white snow-capped mountains, we will spend few hours on there and we trek back down to Sama Gaon Overnight at Lodge.
We’ll star an early in the morning to head towards Samdo Village, which is takes around 2 hours from Sama Gaon, after then we trek continue to cross the wooden bridge over the Budi Ghandaki and ascending gradually up the valley. Another Buddhist mani walls marks the beginning of the ascent to the pass and cross two streams and witness the larke la Glacier. We trek continue to ascending and reach to Dharamshala overnight at Lodge.
Today we will star very early in the morning. We will walk slowly gradual uphill to Larkya La Pass (5,106meters/16,751feet) from the sea level, from the dharamshala to Larke la top it will be takes around 4/5 hours. From the top if the blue sky then we will be able to see the magical panoramic mountains view of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Samdo Peak, Larkya La Peak, Kanguru and Annapurna II on the possibility. We will be spend few hours on the top for enjoy and take the Group Picture with board of Larke la pass and beautiful mountains, then after we trek descending to reach the Bimtang village, overnight at Lodge.
We will walk down hill through the river side. Along the way we will see the an amazing view of mountains and ramble on the pine and rhododendron forest it will be more interesting while we on the jungle, and we can see the wild animals of Monkeys, musk deer, leopard, jackal, mountains goats and much more. We will stop for lunch break at the Surki Khola after then we trek continue to downhill to reach the Dharapani village overnight at Lodge.
After the breakfast, we leave Dharapani from Besishar by local jeep or Bus. It will takes arounds 4/5 hours drive, we passing the beautiful marshyandi rive and the place of Chamje, Jagat, Shyange, Bhulbule, Khudi and reach to Besishar. If we reach the besishar on before the 4:00 pm then we will catch the micro or bus to Kathmandu. On the journey to Kathmandu, the road follows along the scenic Marsyangdi River valley and then meets the Trishuli River as we leads west along the Prithivi Highway. During the drive we will have good views of lush scenery and terraced farmland.

This time is the impeccable season for this trek. During this period, a chance to see the Spectacular Views of Mont. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Buddha Himal, Siringi Himal, and more peaks, etc.
The middle of March. The temperature will start increasing; with blue skies and the white snowcap peaks appearing at them. However, along the trekking trails, you will see the Nepalese National flower of Rhododendron blooming in various colors. Also, this time, snow will melt away by the end of February and it may be easy to cross the high pass of Larke La. The temperature during the day in low lands from (Machhikhola to Namrung) can reach up to 20°c to 25°c, High route from Sama Gaun to Bimtang) 15°c to 18°c . The night and morning time will be cold temperatures will reach around 0°c to -5°c.
Autumn season is also the best time to explore the Manaslu Region trek. It's a high tourist season due to good weather. From mid-September, the weather is favorable and the skies clear, letting the stunning Himalayas view.

Local people drink the water from the Taps and rivers without filtering, for local people no problem, because they always use the same water, if you drink the water from the rivers or taps, you might get sick, we suggest you should not drink water from the Rivers or Taps, because the water might be not drinkable.
